Your Data Stays Your Data

Self-hosted analytics means: no tracking by Google, no data transfers to the US, no sharing with third parties. Matomo, Umami, Plausible or Grafana run as managed containers on LAY7 cloud – on German infrastructure, under your control.

0 Third Parties

Your analytics data never leaves the German server location. No Google, no US Cloud Act, no data sharing. Complete data sovereignty for you and your users.

GDPR Without Consent Banner

When self-hosted, Matomo and Plausible can be operated without a consent banner. No cookies, no personal data shared with third parties. GDPR compliant while still providing complete visitor statistics.

Matomo, Umami, Plausible & Grafana

Any analytics tool available as a Docker image: Matomo for comprehensive web analytics, Umami for minimalist statistics, Plausible for privacy-first analytics, Grafana for dashboards and visualizations.

Automatic Updates via Docker

New version available? Update the image tag and redeploy. Kubernetes starts the container with the new version – automatic restart, no manual SSH, no update scripts.

Taking Privacy Seriously

Data protection authorities classify Google Analytics as problematic. Self-hosted analytics on German infrastructure is the clean solution – legally secure, transparent and without dependency on US corporations.

Scale Anytime

More visitors, more data? Add more resources with a click in the dashboard, without server migration. Less traffic? Simply scale down – you only pay for what you use.

Managed MariaDB for Your Analytics Data

Matomo, Umami and other tools store their data in a database. On LAY7 cloud, your MariaDB runs as a dedicated managed service – in the same network as your analytics container. SSL certificates via Let's Encrypt for all domains, automatically issued and renewed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which analytics tools can I run on LAY7 cloud?
Any tool available as a Docker image: Matomo, Umami, Plausible, Grafana, GoAccess and many more. You configure your analytics tool as a container deployment in the dashboard – with its own database and SSL.
Is self-hosted analytics really GDPR compliant?
Yes, as long as the data stays in the EU and no personal data is transferred to third parties. On LAY7 cloud, your analytics data runs exclusively on German servers. When self-hosted, Matomo and Plausible can even be operated without a consent banner, since no cookies are set and no data flows to third parties.
How do I migrate from Google Analytics?
Deploy your analytics tool (e.g. Matomo) on LAY7 cloud and add the tracking code to your website. Matomo also offers a Google Analytics Importer that lets you transfer historical data. The switch takes just a few minutes.
Can I install Matomo plugins?
Yes. Use a custom Docker image based on the official Matomo image and install any plugins you need. With a persistent volume, your plugin data is preserved even through container restarts.
How much storage do I need?
That depends on your visitor numbers. For most websites, 5 GB of database storage and 5 GB of volume are sufficient. For high traffic volumes, simply scale storage and database with a click in the dashboard – no migration required.
